ANOTHER P2M RAID Looc joins millionaire’s club in shabu trade

In another big haul by the authorities, a woman in Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City was recently arrested after she yielded 300 grams of shabu worth P2.040MillIion pursuant to a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Gerardo A. Pagiuo Jr.

The police identified the suspect as Judith O. Banatanto, 52, who was subject to by search warrant served by the joint anti-illegal drugs operation that were witnessed by Barangay Kagawad George Balongag and representatives of the Department of Justice and the local media.

Among the confiscated evidences were:  – 1 piece big transparent ice wrapper plastic knot heat-sealed transparent plastic knotted containing white crystalline substance suspected shabu with estimated weigh of 100grams; 1 piece medium transparent ice wrapper plastic knotted containing white crystalline substance with estimated weight of 70grams; 6 pieces small transparent ice wrapper plastic knotted containing white crystalline substance suspected shabu with estimated weight of 25grams each; 1 piece small transparent ice wrapper transparent plastic knotted containing white crystalline substance suspected shabu; one weighing scale and two red pouches and other drug paraphernalia along with cash proceeds.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded the authorities for the latest arrest as it prevented the distribution of such a huge amount of illegal drugs. He admitted that due to the location of Barangay Looc and its proximity to northern Mindanao, it remains a transhipment point for smugglers of illegal drugs across the region.

Nevertheless, the local police and Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency have been scoring major arrests worth by the millions in pesos too, so as  to greatly minimize the entry and circulation  of illegal drugs within the city.
