Bayawan Farmers Market offers organic veggies

The formal opening of the Bayawan Farmers Market in Poblacion 1 (Tinago) Tuesday hosted by Dumaguete City Mayor Ipe Remollo (center)

All three Congressional Representatives of Negros Oriental were present for the occasion: Jocelyn Limkaichong (1st District), Manuel Sagarbarria (2nd District) and Arnie Teves (3rd District). This is a show of support for the project initiated by Bayawan City Mayor Pryde Henry Teves (in shades) with full concurrence of Mayor Remollo and Poblacion 1 Punong Barangay Harrison Go.

The project aims to provide an alternative access to residents and visitors of Dumaguete City to fresh, healthy, chemical- free and affordable fruits, vegetable and other farm products from Bayawan City. This will also help ensure food security for the capital city and boost the livelihood of the farmers in the southern part of the province.
