Brgy. Justice System to reduce court dockets

All barangay officials and members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa actively participated in lectures and practical exercises of the two-day Basic Alternative Dispute Resolution Training seminar so they would be more equipped to handle disputes and cases and help reduce the volume of cases in the regular courts.

Among the speakers are ADR Director Ulysses A. Aguila, Deputy Director Charlie Guhit and Deputy Director Rodan Parrocha (seated) of the Department of Justice who discussed the salient features of the Katarungang Pambarangay Law, best practices and challenges of the KP law and facilitated the simulation exercises on how to effectively handle mediation and conciliation to settle disputes in the Barangay. Also present to ensure the efficient conduct of the training held at Bahura Resort and Spa in Dauin are City Local Government Operations Officer Aquilina Eltanal and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dione Amores. Mayor Remollo (seated center) gave a pep talk.
