Citizens urged check funded infra works

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo declares that the City Government and the City Schools Division are ready to host the expected 7, 000 athletes from Region 7 who will compete in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association in the last week of February 2019. The declaration was made during the opening ceremony of the City Meet with City Deped Superintendent Dr. Evangel Luminarias at the Perdices Coliseum, Wednesday.

If the citizens are serious in getting projects in their areas done, they should check if the an-nounced funding of such projects have been pushed through or are just on paper, City Hall announced.

The widening and cementing of the road along Barangay Candau-ay is already funded. The Camanjac-Candau-ay road from the existing PCCP going north to the other existing PCCP with drainage canal has been allocated Php1M. The construction of the boulder dike near Camella Homes in the same barangay has been funded with a total amount of P200,000.00.

In Barangay Daro, the Barangay Health Center will soon to be realized with a budget of P320,000.00. The construction of drainage canal with cover along Saint Peter and St. Ignatius Street will have an allocation of Php950,000.00.

In Barangay Junob, Php400,000.00 is allocated for its drainage canal with cover along roads that are newly opened for public use. The Multi-Purpose Center and Health Center have also been allocated Php125,000.00 and Php75,000.00 respectively.

CITY PROJECTS FOR NEXT YEAR

More projects already have their own budget set to start early 2019 according to City Hall.

For the citizens to be up to date, they should monitor their barangays if such projects are actually being undertaken and notify either media or the City Hall if there are delays.

In Barangay Batinguel where its Evacuation Center is to be located at Purok 4 near the Barangay Chapel, additional funding of P400,000.00 has been allocated. The defining of Lagnasan Waterways was given an additional budget of P500,000.00. This will serve several barangays including Bajumpandan, Banilad, Buñao, Mangnao, Batinguel, Motong, Camanjac, and Pulantubig. Construction of the drainage canal with cover in the northern side was appropriated Php1.5M as well.

In Barangay Cadawinonan, the construction of the Multi-Purpose Hall for the barangay will be given an additional funding of P400,000.00 and an upcoming project for Calindagan Elementary School will be given a budget of P120,000.00.

In Barangay Camanjac, the Dumaguete City Dog Pound already has a budget of P245,000.00. The construction for the flood and erosion control structure beside Banica river and Ocoy river, meanwhile, has been allocated Php10.4M.
