DUMAGUETE CITY – This is surely a good start and a sincere gesture that will inspire the city administration to acquire similar additional units following the donation of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry of a street sweeper truck.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded NOCCI for donating the refurbished mechanized street sweeper truck that has the capacity to suck dirt, debris and litters on the streets and deposit these into a hold of the truck.(Photo below)
The truck will complement the human street sweepers in this fast growing city that will cut time and manpower cost in an efficient way.
Edward Du of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for Central Visayas said that the donated second-hand street sweeper truck is pegged to cost around P 500, 000 only.
Mayor Remollo deployed the mechanized sweeper truck in the public market to remove the accumulated dirt and congealed wastes in and around the facility.
Bigger cities in the country use street sweeper trucks to improve sanitation in the urban areas and to keep the streets free from litter and debris, which can reduce falls, accidents and outbreak of diseases.
