DUMAGUETE CITY – The administration of Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo will purchase two brand new rescue vans or vehicles even as two additional brand new garbage compactors have arrived to boost the collection efficiency of the Environment and Natural Resources Office.
Recently, the City Council approved Mayor Remollo’s request to purchase two rescue vans with mounted medical/first aid kits at P1.6 million per unit for a total budget of P3.3 million for the two brand new units.
The procurement of the rescue vans is among the priority projects as part of the city’s disaster risk reduction management plan.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the two brand new garbage compactors brings the total number of brand new compactors being utilized by the city to four units, which will significantly improve the trash collection efficiency of ENRO to meet the growing needs of the city.
For many years ENRO has been plagued with frequent breakdowns of its old garbage trucks leading to the accumulation of uncollected garbage across the city deemed detrimental to the health and well-being of the residents and visitors.
