Two more men, including an ex-convict were arrested by a composite team of the Philippine National Police, Special Operations Group, Regional Mobile Group and the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Unit in two buy bust operations in Dumaguete City.
Chief-of-Police Supt. Jonathan Pineda identified the suspects as Crispian Lumaya, an ex-convict, who was arrested in Barangay Taclobo and Crisologo Barredo, who is tagged as a neophyte, in Barangay Bagacay.
Seized from Barredo were shabu with a street value of P 102, 000 and a .45 caliber pistol with 4 live ammunition. On the other hand, Lumaya yielded suspected shabu estimated to weigh 203 grams.
Both suspects were arrested in the act of selling shabu to police poseur buyers. Barangay officials were present in both operations and acted as witnesses during the arrest and inventory.
Meanwhile, authorities also monitored about two hundred protestors who converged at the Quezon Park to denounce the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao.
The organizations that initiated the protest march from Santa Catalina in the south and Guihulngan City in the north were Gabriela, Piston, Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas, Bayan Muna and Kabataan Partylist.
Protestors condemned the shootings of Elisa Badayos, Eleoterio Moises, Apolonio Diosana and Joey Lieana. They also demanded true land reform, the increase of the daily minimum wage to P 750 and called for the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte.
