Foundation University (FU) saves P350,000 to P450,000 in electric bills per month by going solar.
The report was made by FU president Victor Vicente G. Sinco. Sinco Sinco said that at present, the university saves about 35 percent in energy use every month. He also bared plans of adding 75 more solar panels by January 2019 which is projected to put FU’s electric savings at 40%. He said that he will pursue said project as soon as the consruction of the alumni building and the science wing will be completed in July next year.
The university president noted that because the energy used is very clean, it experienced lesser breakdowns of electronic equipment which is good for the university and the environment. To save more, it is controlling excessive use of air conditioning units.
The SOLAR projects is worth P25 million payable in ten years for both the North and Main campuses, Sinco further shared.
