Local Table Tennis Player at SEATTA Beats Vietnam player

DUMAGUETE CITY- Alvin Joseph I. Credo, a resident of Dumaguete City and a Grade 12 student at the RTPM Dumaguete Science High School, recently participated in the 24th South East Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championships (SEATTA) held last July 4-8, 2018 at Robinsons Place, Naga City, Philippines.

Credo, a three-time Palarong Pambansa player with one championship and 2nd runner up awards under his belt, had to go through a series of tournaments before he qualified as a member of the Junior Philippine Team which included the Best of the Best paddlers Championships held last January 2018 and the Super League Table Tennis Championships held last May 2018.

This year’s SEATTA game was hosted by the Philippines with Mr. Ting C. Ledesma, Philippine Table Tennis Federation, Inc. President and Tournament Director. The participating teams are from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The tournament culminated on July 8, 2018 with the Singaporean National team dominating majority of the events followed by the Malaysian National team.
