Local YMCA shine in national congress

The  43rd YMCA National Congress of College Students and 23rd YMCA National Campus Club Advisers Seminar Workshop, a project sponsored by the YMCA of Manila through its College Work Department in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education, was participated by 41 CHED recognized universities nationwide including St. Paul University Dumaguete at Senior Mess, Teachers Camp, Baguio City. The event’s theme was “Y Minds: Citizens with Advocacy”.

With a total of three hundred fifty-eight (358) delegates, two students from the College of Business and Information Technology (CBIT), namely Amzelle Diego Laspiñas and Karla Ray Mendoza with their adviser Engr. Maria Carol P. Tubog, represented the school in the said event. Amzelle, an Accountancy student, participated in the Congress Patrol and was chosen to be this year’s Tuklas Talino Quiz Master. She was also awarded as this year’s YMCA Outstanding Delegate. On the other hand, Karla Ray, a Business Management student, excelled  in the Congress Patrol and was elected as one of this year’s Congress Marshal.Indeed, the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) goal was to gather many student leaders of the country to reflect again and to challenge them to work as one to be pro-active in God’s calling to select their desired advocacy which has a primary goal to uplift the life of the people in their respective schools or communities.
