Magdegamo ties up with Go’s malasakit

In a bid to strengthen his health program, Governor Roel Degamo has accepted the establishment of a Malasakit Center at the Negros oriental Provincial Hospital to cater to the needs of the poorer patients from around the province.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop for the families of patients seeking medical assistance to pay for the required laboratory, drugs, surgery, among other needs.

It can be recalled that Special Assistant to the President Bong Go came to Dumaguete City during the Nutri-Fest celebration last month upon the invitation of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and Governor Degamo.

In that gathering at Perdices Coliseum, Go, rumored to be running for Senator next year, made the promise that his office will facilitate the donation of an ambulance and the establishment of a Malasakit Center, a project implemented in other parts of the country. The ambulance arrived shortly followed by the opening of the Malasakit Center.

Said center houses the extension offices of PhilHealth, PAGCOR and DSWD to cut the red tape and ensure speedy provision of assistance to the needy families who could not afford paying their hospital bills.

President Duterte has consistently underscored his support for Go, his longtime aide, to run and serve in the Senate to help advance his legislative agenda.
