The Malasakit Center established at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH) has run out of funds but replenishment is coming.
This was confirmed by NOPH administrator Enocencio Obligar following queries about the status of the center established by the office of the President through the then Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go.
It continues to operate while waiting for funding replenishment.
Based on the utilization report of the hospital administrator, the initial Malasakit fund of P10 million was depleted in February of this year. The center became operational September of last year.
Obligar said many indigent patients have already availed of the center’s free medical services.
