One dead, 3 injured in Sibulan shooting

One person was dead and three others were injured in two separate shooting incidents in Sibulan last week.

Last Tuesday, a certain Gary Agbon of Taclobo Dumaguete City and his companions Michael Abad Ramirez of Daro, Dumaguete City and Yolanda Vendiola of Buntis Bacong were fired upon by suspects as they were travelling to meet a lawyer at his residence.

The three were attacked as they were supposed to secure a certification from the lawyer so they could claim the motorcycles following a different shooting incident on December 3 resulting in the impounding of their vehicles at the Sibulan Police Station.

Agbon died on the spot while Ramirez and Vendiola were brought to the Silliman University Medical Center. Investigators recovered empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol and a 9mm handgun.

Meanwhile, a resident of Judyville Subdivision in Sibulan was also wounded in an earlier shooting incident. Authorities identified the victim as Louie Roel Rubio, who was just sitting on a pathway when the lone suspect arrived and shot the victim 4 times. Rubio, was hit in his head, shoulder, hand and leg with the suspect escaped on board a motorcycle. The victim was rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital for immediate treatment.
