Attempts to flood the streets with illegal drugs during the Buglasan activities were foiled by authorities following the service of a search warrant early this morning.
Searched is the residence of Richard Merced, who incidentally was not around, instead for his brother Reginaldo, 20 years old, married who yielded three sachets believed to contain shabu.
Recovered by the searching is more or less 2.5 kilos of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated dangerous drugs board value of P300,000 including 16 sachets believed to contain shabu granules weighing 15 grams more or less or P174,000 in DDB value.
Provincial Intelligence Branch—Special Operations Group team leader PSInsp Armel Von Alegria said the group received information about the nefarious activities of the suspect which led to the conduct of a test buy after which a search warrant was applied for in court.
PNP provincial director PSSupt Raul Tacaca who personally supervised the anti-drug operation said “akala seguro nila nandoon lahat kami sa Buglasan nagconcentrate sa peace and security operations kaya may binagsak na droga.”
He reiterated the statement of the President during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) that the campaign against illegal drugs will not be sidelined, instead will be relentless and pursued vigorously.
Earlier, operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) headed by PSIns Don Richmon Conag also busted a 22 year old old, single lady from Campaclan, Sibulan during a buy –bust operation.
The agreed transaction area was at Bogo public cemetery in Taclobo and so the suspect Michelle Torres was arrested while handing over 1 sachet believed to contain shabu, and incidental to the buy bust is the recovery of one big bulto of shabu weighing 20 grams more or less with a dangerous drubs board value of P236,000 including the marked money from her possession.
