The Philippine Postal Corporation Iloilo District Area 6, with the support of the Dumaguete City Post Office, Robinson’s Place, and Dumaguete Stamp Collectors Club, did a rare stamp exhibition as well as spearheaded different Postal ID Activities. Formally opening the exhibit were PhilPost Dumaguete Postmaster Rafael C. Quirante Jr., Dumaguete Stamp Collectors Club President Gary P.Rosales; Postmaster Joseph Miag-ao Ojales; and St. Paul University Dumaguete External Affairs Officer Penn T. Larena.

Through the exhibit that featured Philatelic stamps and first day covers, local philatelic exhibitors Mr. Allan Bennett Uymatiao, Milfred Ong , Richard Rauscher, Penn T. Larena and Gary Rosales, hoped to increase the public’s awareness of one of the most loved hobbies of all time — stamp collecting.

According to Rosales, Philately is a stress reliever and is both educational and fun. One can learn the culture, history, and traditions of different countries just by collecting stamps.

This coming November 28 to December 3, 2018, Thailand will host the 2018 World Stamp Exhibition which will be one of the world’s high profile philatelic events displaying approximately 2,500 frames of exhibits from all Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) member countries. Total value of stamps is estimated at over 4,000 Million Baht (100 Million Euros).
