Governor Roel Degamo has directed the cre-ation of Special Investigation Task Group to investigate the murder of the Chief of Canlaon District Hospital Dr. Adelex Amor at Barangay Basak, Guihulngan City, Tuesday.
Degamo issued an executive order to Acting Provincial Director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office for the creation of the task group in order to “speed up the resolution of the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Dr. Amor was taking a break at the side of the road when one of the three suspects approached and repeatedly shot the physician in cold blood before escaping.
Authorities tried to save the life of Dr. Amor by bringing him to the Guihulngan District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by his colleague.
Four empty cartridges from a calibre .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene. Amor’s killing joined the growing list of victims of shootings in Guihulngan City.
Recently, PRO7 Regional Director Police Chief Supt. Debolo M. Sina visited the Guihulngan City with the objective of beefing up the security and devise a plan to address the spate of unsolved killings which many citizens say has escalated from bad to worse since the ambush killing of six policemen by armed men who claim to be members of the rebel movement.
