DUMAGUETE CITY – Following the footsteps of her auntie, another Tolentino was elected as the new Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President last Tuesday. The young Tolentino, is a niece of Councilor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino. She was elected with 21 of the 30 votes cast.
Like her auntie, Tolentino will sit as exofficio member of the City Council. Next election will be for the Provincial SK Federation whose President will sit as exofficio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo administered the oaths of office of the SK Federation officers rallied the youth leaders to serve the public with passion and integrity to support the administration’s LUPAD vision.
There are 30 SK Chairpersons in Dumaguete City, who elected the following officers: President Lei Marie Danielle Montesa Tolentino of Barangay Batinguel (21 votes) VicePresident Renz Macion of Poblacion 8 (13 votes), Secretary Rabello Sumoson of Bunao (29), Treasurer Airah Faye Tabotabo of Looc, 22 votes; Auditor, Dazilee Dayuday of Pulantubig (29 votes), PRO Christianne Marie Oropel of Poblacion 5 (15) and Sergeant-at-arms: John Mark Catalan of Motong with 28 votes.
Monday’s election was supervised by the City Local Government Operations Officer Aquilina Eltanal of the Department of Interior and Local Government, City Election Officer Atty. Gildu Agoncillo of the Commission on Elections and Sanggunian Panlungsod Secretary Atty. Arthur Fran Tolcidas.
City Local Government Operations Officer Aquilina Etanal lauded the SK Chairpersons for the orderly conduct of the elections.
