Trio shot dead, 3 injured: 1 week

Three people were shot dead while three others were injured after they were murdered by still unknown assailants in three recent and separate incidents in Bayawan City, Bindoy and Bacong during the week that passed.

Human rights advocates asked why the Police has not even released a report as to the possible suspects when what the PNP usually does is to add to the statistics piles of list of unsolved extrajudicially executed citizens. Are there arrests made? The people need a report on which among the piles of EJK killings that have been solved by the law enforcers.

A farmer died in an ambush in Barangay Nalundan, Bindoy by about 5 identified suspects. The slain farmer, Rani Amper was driving a motorcycle with three other persons, who were injured namely Rolin Dodoy Luyaga, Rodelyn Balasabas and Marilyn Amper, wife of the victim.

The suspects opened fire at the hapless victims as they pass by. The survivors were brought to Dumaguete City for further medical care.

Meanwhile, two other men were killed in cold blood in Bayawan City and Bacong on the same day, Tuesday. Victim Kenneth Boloy, 18, of Barangay Malabugas, Bayawan City was shot pointblank in the head while he was playing inside an internet café. One of the suspects acted as lookout while the other approached the victim and without provocation shot Boloy, who died on the spot, at close range.

The 3rd to be executed was a Christopher Torres Custodio, 42, previously detained for drugs charges, also died inside his dwelling in Barangay Banilad Bacong when still unidentified assailants shot him dead.
