The Guihulngan city police is digging deeper in its investigation into a shooting incident involving the driver of the vice mayor of the city early dawn on Wednesday while about to gas up at a gasoline station located at R Villegas Street, barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan city.

Guihulngan City chief of police PSupt Baquiran disclosed Dausan was on his way to the house of a city councillor where he has a sideline as a caretaker of the fighting cocks of the SB member. Being a routine activity, Dausan may have been monitored to get out of his house at 3:00 to 4:00 every morning and while about to gas up, the riding in tandem suspects shot him in different parts of his body.

The driver was armed with an unlicensed cal. 45 pistol loaded with one magazine with six live bullets but failed to use the same because it was placed inside his sling bag. An extra magazine loaded with 6 live ammunitions was also found inside the sling bag. Also found at the crime scene are 7 empty shells for Cal. 45 pistol, three slugs and P400 cash.

The police theorize that the target was really the driver because he was on is own when shot by the suspects on or about 3:50 o’clock dawn. Personal motive is being looked into as the cause of the incident.

PSupt Baquiran has recommended to the city peace and order council and the city government to require all establishments to put up CCTV cameras in their vicinities to help in the resolution of crimes, through legislations.jrg
